ABOUT US

A Legacy of Innovation, Sustainability, and Performance

Wrightsock is more than a sock—it’s a legacy. Founded in 1948 in Burlington, NC, by Wrightenberry Hosiery Mills, this third-generation family-owned company proudly manufactures every product in the USA. We take immense pride in creating high-quality socks crafted by American workers, right where it all began.

The Birth of the Anti-Blister System™

Our game-changing Double Layer® Anti-Blister System™ started as an act of love in 1988. Jerry Wrightenberry, a second-generation hosiery manufacturer, watched his son Joey battle painful blisters caused by the dynamic motion of running and training. In near-constant discomfort Jerry realised the problem wasn’t Joey’s drive—it was his socks. Determined to help his son excel, Jerry invented a sock that reduced moisture and friction, transforming how athletes protect their feet.

That simple yet revolutionary solution evolved into Wrightsock, the world’s original no-blister sock. Today, Joey and his sister lead the company, continuing their father’s commitment to innovation and performance. From athletes to adventurers, millions rely on Wrightsock to stay blister-free.

American Made

Wrightsock has proudly been made in the USA since the beginning, long before we became known as Wrightsock. Based in Burlington, North Carolina, we are a third-generation, family-owned business, employing local residents from Burlington and nearby towns.

Our commitment to American craftsmanship goes beyond our location—over 90% of the materials used in our products are sourced in the United States. From Unifi’s Repreve® recycled polyester, produced in Greensboro, North Carolina, to KentWool Yarns® Merino Wool, spun in Pickens, Sout Carolina, every pair of Wrightsocks is a reflection of our dedication to quality, sustainability, and supporting American manufacturing.

Our Vision for Sustainability

Wrightsock is on a mission to lead the way in sustainable sock manufacturing. Using 70% post-consumer recycled plastics in all our products, we’re committed to reducing waste, safeguarding the planet, and leaving a positive impact on future generations.

We believe the health of our planet is at a turning point. By investing in sustainable materials that outperform traditional textiles, we aim to heal the planet, mitigate climate change, and inspire others to join us in creating a cleaner, greener future.
